Conferences

The aim of our conferences is to bring different people from different cultures and faiths together, to inspire our participants and to provide a platform for discussion and exchange. Last but not least, we strive to ensure that Christians play an active role in current European political and social dialogue.

There are two main forms of conferences. The first is the “Europe and Values” series, with conferences such as “Putting Europe back on its feet” and “Europe: fortress or welcoming place. Challenges for Europe facing legal/illegal immigration” (with the participation of the European Parliament, European Commission and some NGOs). Here, the focus is on the EU priorities of the current year and important socio-political events in Europe and the rest of the world.

The second set of conferences focus on “Life and spirituality”, and we have even seen the involvement of Herman Van Rompuy, the first President of the European Council, in our conference on the “Role of Christians in Today’s Europe”, together with representatives from different Christian Churches. These conferences explore the links between professional and spiritual life, and how to apply Christian values in our daily lives.

The conferences, which mainly start at 7pm, are generally followed by a simple reception allowing people to meet and exchange views.
