Trips & Pilgrimages

Join us for one of our 1 or 2 day trips/pilgrimages, combining spiritual time, time together and the discovery of the nature and culture of a region of interest, either in Belgium or abroad.

Our one-day pilgrimages are usually organised at the end of the social year, walking or biking, and each one is inspired by a different spiritual theme or personality. Some examples: walks in the Forêt de Soignes visiting the Jesus Eik Church or the Chapel of Notre Dame de Bon Odeur, a walk following the traces of the 14th-century Flemish mystic John of Ruusbroec, a walk along the Dijle River from Tremelo to Leuven following the traces of the Belgian Saint Damiaan de Veuster, cycling in the Brussels neighbourhood visiting Averboden Abbey and the Scherpenheuvel Marian Sanctuary and more. Provisions are made for a sharing picnic en route. A Mass and chat concludes the day.

During our two-day weekend trips/pilgrimages there is more time for some interesting conferences, prayer and a social evening together. Some examples include “Inspired by Schuman’s dream” – visiting the former home of Robert Schuman, co-founder of the European Union, in Scy-Chazelles and experiencing the European and spiritual adventure, and “When East meets West” – visiting an Ecumenical monastery in Chevetogne where celebrations are led both in Western Latin and
Eastern Byzantine traditions. Transport is usually organised by car-sharing (volunteers welcome). On the way, the nature and culture of different regions can be discovered, for example we explored the multicultural city of Metz, with its cathedral and the beautiful grottoes of Hotton.

Whatever pilgrimage you choose, bring good shoes and your smile. Prayers for sunshine are always welcome 😉
