It is a place dedicated to prayer\, reflection\, and dialogue at the crossroads of European life. Its programme is inspired by Gospel values\, committed to solidarity\, and devoted to spiritual and personal growth.\nThis year is especially meaningful as we celebrate our 25th anniversary! \nWhether you are curious\, looking for a quiet moment\, or simply wish to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and a friendly chat\, our doors are open to you. Learn more about our history\, our mission\, and our diverse programme\, including prayer groups\, celebrations\, spiritual workshops\, round tables\, and cultural events. \nSpecial highlight of the day:\nAt 15:00\, join us for the opening and introduction (vernissage) of our exhibition:\n“Cyril and Methodius: Men of Dialogue”\nOrganised in collaboration with the Together4Europe network\, this exhibition explores the legacy of these two remarkable saints\, known for creating the Glagolitic alphabet\, the first script used to transcribe Old Church Slavonic—and for their enduring contribution to dialogue between cultures and faiths. \nWhere: You will find us at 22–24 Rue Van Maerlant\, right between the European Commission and the European Parliament\, next to the European Commission Library. \nWe look forward to welcoming you!

DESCRIPTION:On the occasion of Europe Day and the Open Doors Day at the Chapel for Europe\, we warmly invite you to the opening of the exhibition: \n“CYRIL AND METHODIUS: Men of Dialogue”\nWhen: May 9 at 15:00\nWhere: Chapel for Europe\, Rue Van Maerlant 22/24\, 1040 Etterbeek \nThis exhibition\, prepared in collaboration with the Together4Europe network\, highlights two great spiritual and cultural figures of Europe. Saints Cyril and Methodius\, brothers from Thessaloniki in the 9th century\, were missionaries sent to the Slavic peoples. They are best known for creating the Glagolitic alphabet\, which made it possible to translate liturgical texts into local languages\, thus opening new paths for dialogue between cultures\, languages\, and traditions. Their legacy has deeply shaped European history\, and today they are honoured as co-patrons of Europe and as patron saints in many European countries. \nTheir message resonates strongly at the heart of the European Quarter: a call to unity in diversity\, to dialogue among peoples\, and to mutual understanding across cultures. \nBefore or after the vernissage\, take time to enjoy the Open Doors Day (11:00 to 17:00): visit the Chapel\, pause for a coffee or tea\, and learn more about our mission as a space for prayer\, reflection\, and dialogue and our programme.
