Saints Cyril and Methodius\, brothers from Thessaloniki in the 9th century\, were missionaries sent to the Slavic peoples. They are best known for creating the Glagolitic alphabet\, which made it possible to translate liturgical texts into local languages\, thus opening new paths for dialogue between cultures\, languages\, and traditions. Their legacy has deeply shaped European history\, and today they are honoured as co-patrons of Europe and as patron saints in many European countries. \nTheir message resonates strongly at the heart of the European Quarter: a call to unity in diversity\, to dialogue among peoples\, and to mutual understanding across cultures. \nBefore or after the vernissage\, take time to enjoy the Open Doors Day (11:00 to 17:00): visit the Chapel\, pause for a coffee or tea\, and learn more about our mission as a space for prayer\, reflection\, and dialogue and our programme. Bernd Günther SJ. \nThe following dates for the first half of 2026 are: 17 May and 21 June. \nThe Mass is especially for children aged 0 to 6\, who remain on the large carpet in front of the altar\, surrounded by their parents. \nThe service is adapted for children\, including the hymns\, homily and liturgy\, to involve them as much as possible\, and lasts 45 minutes (60 minutes including arrival and return of the rugs). \nAfterwards\, families gather for a light snack. \nBreastfeeding is welcome\, nappy changing is possible\, and there are toilets and a lift for pushchairs in the chapel. \nFamilies of other Christian denominations are welcome\, in keeping with the Chapel’s ecumenical spirit (the celebration follows the Catholic liturgy). \nParents are invited to join the team of organizing parents\, either regularly or occasionally\, with: \n– music during Mass (guitar\, piano\, singing or other)\n– activities/entertainment based on the Sunday Gospel (colouring\, collage\, other)\n– fruit/healthy snacks after Mass \nFor more information and if you are interested\, please send an email to Fr.
