Halla is a fifty-year-old independent woman. Known to others only by her pseudonym “The Woman of the Mountain”, she is secretly engaged in a partisan war against the aluminium industry to save her home ecosystem from destruction.

Woman at War takes a humorous sidelong glance at what it means to look, sound and act as a single person on serving the protection of our common home.

This film won the 2018 European Parliament LUX FILM PRIZE.
The films selected for the LUX FILM PRIZE competition raise awareness about some of today’s main social and political issues and, as a result, help to build a stronger European identity. By illustrating the diversity of European traditions and shedding light on the process of European integration, they help celebrate the universal reach of European values.
