Invitation to a Panel Discussion and Peace Prayer on
Experiencing the European Integration and Working towards the United Koreas.
The Cold War divided Europe into East and West and Korea into North and South. Europeans and Koreans share the tragic experience of political division, families torn apart, businesses destroyed, civil society muted and churches closed. Nevertheless, cultural and linguistic ties and national identities have been preserved. Since the 1990s, Eastern, Central and Western Europe have been reunited, while the division of the Korean peninsula continues to this day.
Join us to share common experiences of the separation and reunification of communities, peoples and countries! Together with our distinguished panelists, let us develop approaches to strengthen European unity and support the Korean rapprochement process:
– Dr Peter Hefele, Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies
– Jeff Fountain, Schuman Centre for European Studies
– Dr Young Lee, Global Hope Network International
