Cantare is the choir of the General Secretariat of the Council.
It was created in 2019 by Greta Pikutienė, a trained musician working at the Council. It brings together colleagues of all different nationalities who work in different parts of the Council, with strong representation from the
language service, where Greta herself works.
Cantare sings a diverse repertoire drawn from different periods and genres, with a focus on singing
in a variety of different languages. During the lockdown period, the choir kept their colleagues’
spirits up with a number of recorded pieces, and their Christmas concerts have become an
established and eagerly anticipated event on the Council’s festive calendar.
