On march 8th we celebrate the International Women’s Day, a tribute date to those women who speak out, and also to the ones behind the scene, and together work hard to make the world a better place.

Chapel for Europe, with the support of the Brussels Catholic Church, has arranged a serie of 5 evenings during the month of March 2023 around the theme: WOMEN OF FAITH: REALITIES AND DREAMS.  Both men and women are invited to join these events.

First event of this serie:
CONFERENCE: “The Catholic Church and women. Herstory in a nutshell “

Guest speakers:
Dr Catherine Chevalier, theologian (UCL Louvain) – (FR)
and Dr Sylvia Hübel, theologian (KU Leuven) – (EN)

With both of them we will explore which postures were adopted by the various popes regarding the women’s role in the Catholic Church since Vatican II.

Furthermore we will browse through history to learn about those women who dared to express their opinions within the framework of a not always welcoming institution.

The event will be in EN/FR – free entrance – no registration required.
