Round-table in English.

Round-table: The challenges of Ecumenism today.

In the framework of the week for Christian unity ‘You shall love the Lord your God…and your neighbour as yourself’, we invite to the round table “The challanges of Ecumenism today” , at the Chapel for Europe.

How to live the Christian faith as one community in Christ – it is a challenge inside every Christian church, but even more between the different churches. After great steps in the ecumenical cooperation and dialogue during the last decades, this dynamic seems to stagnate today. What can be learned from the experiences of those last decades? Where does ecumenism stand today and to where is is heading? In a round table discussion members of different churches and backgrounds search for answers.

Discussion and reflections by:

– Ms Katerina Pekridou, Executive Secretary for Theological Dialogue at Conference of European Churches (CEC)

– Revd Canon Prof Jack McDonald, Chaplain-President, Central Committee of the Anglican Church in BE

– Fr Manuel Enrique Barrios Prieto, General Secretary of Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the EU (COMECE)

Pastor Johannes Reitze-Landau,  All Lutheran Church of Brussels

If you can not attend or live abroad, you can find the recorded round-table in the Chapel’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvKNzZpgj9M

Another invitation: On 25 January 2024 at 19:00, an ecumenical prayer vigil will be held at the Cathedral of Saints Michel and Gudule, Parvis Sainte Gudule, 1000 Brussels. For more information HERE.
