On 5 June at 6:30 pm we will welcome Herman van Rompuy at the Chapel for Europe.
In the framework of “European Future Talks” on “Values and Europe”, former President of the European Council, Herman van Rompuy, will deliver a Keynote on “Governmental Responsibility and Personal Ethos”.
Respondents discussing the subject will be Dr Michaël Bauwens, Department of Philosophy, University of Antwerp, HIRH Prince Lorenz of Belgium, Archduke of Austria-Este and Dr Christian Gsodam, European External Action Service.
The event will also look at the life of Blessed Charles of Austria. In his homily at the mass of beatification Pope Saint John Paull II said
“From the beginning, the Emperor Charles conceived of his office as a holy service to his people. His chief concern was to follow the Christian vocation to holiness also in his political actions. For this reason, his thoughts turned to social assistance. May he be an example for all of us, especially for those who have political responsibilities in Europe today!”
The event is organized by COMECE, the Chapel for Europe and European Future Talks.
