Persecution inflicts a terrible destruction. Every single incident hides a personal drama behind. So many killed and kidnapped, so many families who lost their beloved ones, who mourn the loss.

Although it is impossible to know exact numbers, Aid to the Church in Need research suggests that two thirds of the world’s population live in countries where violations of religious freedom occur in one form or another, with Christians being the most persecuted group. Let us hear the voice of those persecuted and oppressed because of Christ. Let us console the suffering Christians, our brothers and sisters, with our solidarity and prayer. We stand with them, innocent victims and pray for peace, for peace is not a luxury designed only for some. Let them inspire us with their witness and encourage our hope in faith. We invite you to join a prayer.

Don’t close your eyes to religious persecution!

Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you [falsely] because of me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven. (Matthew 5, 11-12a)
