25th Anniversary Ecumenical Celebration of the Chapel for Europe
This autumn, the Chapel for Europe celebrates the 25th anniversary of its inauguration as an open and welcoming space for prayer, reflection, encounter and dialogue in the heart of the European Quarter.
For twenty-five years, the Chapel has sought to be a place where people from different churches, cultures and backgrounds can come together in prayer, conversation and mutual understanding. Throughout this journey, we have witnessed God’s faithfulness and the commitment of countless individuals and communities who have helped shape and sustain this unique mission.
To mark this important milestone, we warmly invite you to join us for the special 25th Anniversary Ecumenical Celebration on Tuesday, 6 October at 19:00.
This anniversary is an opportunity to express our deep gratitude to all those who have walked alongside us over the past twenty-five years: church leaders, ecumenical and interfaith partners, volunteers, donors, supporters, friends and all who have contributed to the life of the Chapel.
From the very beginning, the Chapel for Europe has been sustained by the friendship, generosity, collaboration and vision of many people and organizations. Together, we have shared moments of joy and celebration, as well as periods of challenge and uncertainty. Your support has enabled the Chapel to grow as a place of welcome, prayer, dialogue and reconciliation.
As we celebrate the past, we also look ahead with hope and commitment.
In a world marked by division, conflict and uncertainty, both within Europe and beyond, the need for spaces that foster prayer, dialogue, understanding and peace is greater than ever. The mission of the Chapel continues to evolve in response to changing realities and new challenges, while remaining rooted in its calling to serve as a place of encounter and reconciliation.
This anniversary celebration will therefore be more than a commemoration of past achievements. It will also be an occasion to pray together for the future, to renew our shared commitment to the values that inspire our work, and to discern how we can continue serving future generations in a changing world.
The ecumenical celebration will bring together representatives of the Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox and Anglican traditions, as well as partners and friends who have played a significant role in the Chapel’s history.
We warmly invite all members of our community and all who share our vision to join us in this special moment of thanksgiving, prayer and celebration as we mark twenty-five years of the Chapel for Europe and look forward to the journey ahead.
