Vernissage of the art exhibition “Burnt Landscapes” by Claire Forgeot

The Chapel for Europe together with the European Laudato Si’ Alliance (ELSiA), invites you to the Vernissage of the art exhibition “Burnt Landscapes”, paintings by Claire Forgeot on Tuesday, 1 October at 19:00 at the Chapel. The Chapel for Europe is delighted to host the paintings by Claire Forgeot and to have her here to tell us more about them. This opportunity has been offered to us by the European Laudato Si' Alliance (ELSia), which wanted to organize an event in Brussels to celebrate the end of the Creation Season, combining the exhibition of the French painter, whose work are inspired by the experience of burnt landscapes, with a half-day conference the following morning on the theme of water. Since 2004, after the shock of witnessing the burning of a mountain slope on a Greek island, Claire Forgeot has been working on the traces of fire in the landscape. Initially, her focus was on calcined black and its relationship to color. Then she experimented with the fire itself by scarifying paper. Photo exhibition: Getting to know the Christians of the East: An exhibition of current and heritage photos of the Christians of the East. Thanks to L'Œuvre d'Orient  the Chapel for Europe will showcase this photo exhibition from 14.01.2025 to 14.02.2025 during the Chapel's opening hours: Monday to Thursday from 12:00 to 14:00. You can also make an appointment to visit the exhibition at other times and/or bring a group from your community. Opening “À la rencontre de la fraternité humaine”, an educational exhibition & Interfaith panel

The Chapel for Europe collaborated in the creation of an exhibition of 8 banners around Fratelli Tutti, designed by the Maison diocésaine de l'enseignement Bruxelles-Brabant Wallon. The exhibition links the text of the papal letter with the wisdom of other spiritual traditions, opening up a path of dialogue. The Chapel is pleased to invite you to the opening of this exhibition on Tuesday 25 February at 7.00 pm. This important educational tool will be presented by Geoffrey Legrand, and the theme will be discussed by several guests from different convictions. Interfaith panel in French:  "Regards Féminins sur Fratelli tutti"- Sema Aydogan, Muslim- Marie-Françoise Boveroulle, Catholic- Nathalie Claessens, Muslim- Véronique Pochet, Buddhist- Sr Julian, Anglican The exhibition will be on display at the Chapel until March 16. Although it has been designed for schools, it can also be used elsewhere and borrowed. Dutch and English versions are also available.
