‘the Faces behind the cases’ – Photography and storytelling exhibition
Chapel for Europe Rue Van Maerlantstraat 22-24, BrusselsRegister for the event here. Eurodiaconia invites you to the Chapel for Europe at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, November 4th, for the exhibition of our photography and story-telling campaign ‘the Faces behind the cases’. The campaign ‘the Faces behind the cases’ combines evocative photographic portraits of women who have found themselves on the move – taken by Yulia Dobrynina – with first-hand narratives from the women themselves. This is a member-led campaign sharing the stories of five women navigating a completely new social and labour reality, reflecting on their daily struggles to find their way. The event aims to platform their voices, challenge stereotypes, highlight systemic barriers, and celebrate the resilience and contributions of women on the move in our societies. Along the way, we highlight Eurodiaconia members’ work in ensuring newcomers feel welcomed and included as soon as they arrive, not only to access services, but to find space to heal, connect, and build meaningful relationships within their new communities. If you have any questions, please get in touch with Donal Brady. The exposition will be showcased at the Chapel for Europe until November 30, 2025, during the Chapel's opening hours: Mondays through Thursdays, 12:00 to 14:00.
