FeaturedPeace Light of Bethlehem
Chapel for Europe Rue Van Maerlantstraat 22-24, Brussels, BelgiumPeace Light of Bethlehem Wednesday, 10 December at 18:30. Starting at the Parc Léopold. Every year, a light comes from Bethlehem. Before Christmas, the Scout movement takes a flame from the "Eternal Flame" from the Nativity Grotto in Bethlehem, where Jesus was born. They carry it into the world as a sign of peace. Especially in these years when the longing and hope for a lasting peace in the Holy Land is so urgent. The light brings peace to us and is a sign of our willingness to be channels of peace, through our words and actions. In Brussels, we will receive the light, brought to us by the Scouts and Guides, on Wednesday, 10 December, 18.30h at the Parc Léopold (in front of the House of European History, near Place Jean Rey). From there, we will accompany the light to the Chapel for Europe, where we shall share a moment of reflection and prayer for peace in the Holy Land and worldwide. The peace light will then be distributed to all who want to carry it on to their parishes, communities, houses, … Please bring along a lantern to take the Peace Light of Bethlehem back home. The welcoming […]
