Open Doors Day at the Chapel for Europe

May 9 | 11:00 - 17:00

Celebrate Europe Day at the Chapel for Europe – Open Doors Day 2026 🇪🇺

On May 9, Europe Day, the European institutions open their doors to the public, and the Chapel for Europe warmly invites you to be part of this special day in the heart of the European Quarter!

When: From 11:00 to 17:00, come and discover the Chapel for Europe: a unique space with an ecumenical vocation, located in the heart of Brussels’ European Quarter. It is a place dedicated to prayer, reflection, and dialogue at the crossroads of European life. Its programme is inspired by Gospel values, committed to solidarity, and devoted to spiritual and personal growth.
This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate our 25th anniversary!

Whether you are curious, looking for a quiet moment, or simply wish to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and a friendly chat, our doors are open to you. Learn more about our history, our mission, and our diverse programme, including prayer groups, celebrations, spiritual workshops, round tables, and cultural events.

Special highlight of the day:
At 15:00, join us for the opening and introduction (vernissage) of our exhibition:
“Cyril and Methodius: Men of Dialogue”
Organised in collaboration with the Together4Europe network, this exhibition explores the legacy of these two remarkable saints, known for creating the Glagolitic alphabet, the first script used to transcribe Old Church Slavonic—and for their enduring contribution to dialogue between cultures and faiths.

Where: You will find us at 22–24 Rue Van Maerlant, right between the European Commission and the European Parliament, next to the European Commission Library.

We look forward to welcoming you!
