Paweł Szamburski takes up liturgical themes from the great religions of the Mediterranean basin and revitalizes the clarinet with the fruits of those sacred traditions. In his playing and work with the instrument, he uses references, melodic motifs, as well as the expression and ornamentation of Orthodox choirs, Sufi and Jewish music, as well as Baha'i and Gregorian chant. The clarinet allowed Szamburski to find an arresting interpretation of the melodies and the songs of various traditions and cultures.
