Whispers of the Soul: Meditative Music Across Spiritual Traditions
FeaturedChapel for Europe Rue Van Maerlantstraat 22-24, Brussels, BelgiumPaweł Szamburski takes up liturgical themes from the great religions of the Mediterranean basin and revitalizes the clarinet with the fruits of those sacred traditions. In his playing and work with the instrument, he uses references, melodic motifs, as well as the expression and ornamentation of Orthodox choirs, Sufi and Jewish music, as well as Baha'i and Gregorian chant. The clarinet allowed Szamburski to find an arresting interpretation of the melodies and the songs of various traditions and cultures. Aware of their inherent differences, the artist still set out to explore their deeply rooted similarities and the profound musical and spiritual coherence. https://szamburski.bandcamp.com/album/ceratitis-capitata

FeaturedChapel for Europe Rue Van Maerlantstraat 22-24, Brussels, BelgiumThe collection of poems Inesperada luz / Lumière inattendue was published in a bilingual Spanish-French edition in June 2025 by Monte Carmelo Publishing. The poet and Benedictine monk Gilles Baudry writes in the preface: "We enter the pages of these prayerful poems via a path of impoverishment, a hollow path that leads to deeper understanding. Through this humble craftsmanship of words, a coincidence is established between the sacredness of poetry and the mystery of God." The prayerful reading in Spanish and French by the author Mari Sol Pérez Guevara and the professor of declamation Bernard Locoge will be accompanied by the Pélerins danseurs. The Pélerins danseurs (Marie Annet, Florence Hubert and Flora Demaegdt) express their prayer with their whole bodies in movement, allowing the One who is Life to unfold in their dancing limbs. A true art of gesture and dance in the service of Faith, revolutionising the vision of the Incarnation in the Church, this pedagogy, conceived in twelve paths, offers a journey inviting each person to […]
